The East Allgäu Region – Bavarian Alps

This idyllic corner of Germany isn’t called “King’s Corner” for nothing. Not only does it have no less than 4 castles within a 3 mile radius (3 of which you see from your holiday home, the fourth from the street you are on) it also has royal views of the Alps and access to 4 lower and 2 mountain lakes in the immediate vicinity.

Nature at its best: There are meadows all around you showing the most beautiful array of wild flowers in Spring and grazing cows with gently ringing bells in summer.

Where else in a first world country do you still see farmers on bicycles sheperding their cows to the pastures ? It’s a nostalgic sight, a journey back in time and into total indulgence and relaxation.
There are plenty of local festivities. The Bavarians always find a reason to celebrate. They love their traditions like their “Lederhosen” (leather pants) and local dresses called “Dirndl” and display them at the frequent small and big festivals.
Whether they display local traditions such as wood cutting, “Shoe Plattler” dance, horse parades or their folk music, there will always be a beer tent and local food sampled for the enjoyment of locals and visitors alike (a la “Oktoberfest”).

The outdoor sports and leisure opportunity are second to none: paragliding from the highest mountains, climbing natural rock walls o
r high rope courses, tennis, hiking or running for miles with stunning views around you whether you take the paths around the lakes or up/through the mountains.
There are beautiful 18-hole golf courses within only 20 minutes from us.

The lakes provide opportunities for canooing, sailing, wind surfing and rowing. The official “romantic route” cycle path is on your door step and safe and idyllic cycle paths abound all around you.

In winter you have your Nordic skiing path starting right behind Birkeneck Luxury Holiday Home and your first down hill ski slopes only a stone throw away.

There are no less than 70 ski lifts and 140 km of skiing slopes in ski resorts in the immediate neighbourhood between 5 and 30 minutes drive away. Ski touring, snow shoeing or snow boarding ? Which one are you going to try ?

Wellness opportunities are all around with the royal hot springs “Königliche Kristalltherme” – across from Birkeneck Luxury Holiday Home – with its all-year heated indoor and outdoor pools, sauna and massage facilities just being one them.
You are within walking distance to local restaurants, the quaint village centre, the mountains, lakes and Füssen city, where you can enjoy a coffee in the cobble-stoned pedestrian zone.
